With impending federal regulations to increase charge sizes of flammable refrigerants, the Efficiency Excellence Network and RSES have partnered together to offer a training course for contractors to ensure that they can be on the leading edge of this new refrigeration equipment and understand how to install and service this equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The Hydrocarbon Refrigerants Training and Certification Program will review and prepare contractors to take a certification exam on the following topics:

  • A3 hydrocarbon refrigerants,
  • A2L HFC and HFO refrigerants,
  • Regulations and standards,
  • Refrigerant properties and safety,
  • System component compatibility,
  • Servicing procedures,
  • Superheat and subcooling,
  • Cylinder storage and transport, and servicing tools.

At the end of this one day training, attendees will be given a link to an online exam where they can complete their certification. Attendees are welcome to return to Efficiency Vermont on Friday, April 26th to take their exam in our classroom at 8:00 am, though they may take the exam at their own office or elsewhere.
