Dave Keefe receives the Linda Wigington Leadership Award

The Linda Wigington Leadership Award celebrates visionary leaders doing extraordinary work to strengthen the home performance and weatherization industry. This award showcases individual excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of work, and inspiration to others. Formerly known as the ACI Leadership Award, the Linda Wigington Leadership Award was renamed in 2014 to honor Linda Wigington, founder of the Affordable Comfort Institute (ACI).

This year’s recipient of the Home Performance Coalition’s Linda Wigington Leadership Award is Dave Keefe. Dave is an Energy Consultant at the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) for Efficiency Vermont. He oversees Quality Assurance for our Home Performance with Energy Star program and trains contractors on building science, best practices and Vermont’s Energy Code.

These are a few of the things that Dave’s colleagues had to say about him:

“…His mastery of teaching adults with demos, pictures and real life stories ensured that students understood whole house concepts. As an instructor, Dave’s thoroughness of building science subject matter is second to none –largely because he knows the importance of having done the work himself.” – Chandler von Schrader, US EPA

“He has the understanding that comes from experience of actually fixing buildings while also being a master of the complex technical issues of building science. That rare combination has made David a true leader in weatherization, energy efficiency, and home performance circles. We are lucky to have had him focus his talents on our industry.” - Michael Blasnik, M. Blasnik & Associates, Senior Building Scientist at Nest

“As a trainer that believes in providing training that will be retained by the learners, he develops interesting and engaging learning opportunities for his training participants. Every training is a new challenge. His goal is to further the skills of individuals that perform building energy assessments, final inspections and efficiency measure installation.” - Suzanne Harmelink, Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation
