Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Program Update

A number of changes are taking place in the HVAC-R program this quarter, including several new incentives.

Middle-Income Bonus Rebate (let your customers know about this great opportunity!)

  • Effective for all installations occurring on or after June 15
  • Post-installation customer rebate, on top of existing wholesale rebates
  • For customers who are at 80-120% of median income for their county (levels are defined on form)
  • Four programs:
    • Cold Climate Heat Pumps - $200 (homeowners fill out online stand-alone form)
    • Heat Pump Water Heaters - $200 (homeowners fill out online stand-alone form)
    • Centrally Ducted Heat Pumps - $500 (included on existing form)
    • Air-to-Water Heat Pumps - $500 (included on existing form)

FREE Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH)

New Eligibility-Cold Climate Heat Pumps

  • Estimated Launch: August (stay tuned for details)
  • All ductless and compact ducted equipment on the NEEP List will be eligible for Efficiency Vermont incentives
  • No retroactive incentives will be issued

Adding Doors to Open Refrigerated Cases

  • Program Launch: August 1
  • Up to $200/linear foot is available for closing in open refrigerated cases
  • End-use customer rebate

High-Efficiency Evaporators

  • Program Launch: August 1
  • New commercial refrigeration midstream offer (discounted at point of purchase)
  • For new walk-in evaporators with smart defrost, EC fan motors, EEVs, and motor controls
  • Incentive levels to be determined (stay tuned)

High Efficiency Condenser Units- Rebate Increase

  • Effective August 1
  • Existing midstream program rebate increase
  • 1-3 Horsepower: $600/HP
  • >3-5 Horsepower: $400/HP

Whole Building Heat Pumps- Rebate Increase

Attendees will meet with Efficiency Vermont Senior Energy Consultant, Matt Sargent, to see a state-of-the-art integrated HVAC system in action in the ZEM model home. Bring your questions and your proposals for upcoming projects.
