New Building Energy Standards
The Vermont Residential Building Standards (RBES) are being updated and are slated for implementation in January 2020. The standards are currently in review, and public comment is being accepted until July 10.
This update impacts EEN members in the residential new construction trade group because all homes receiving Efficiency Vermont certification need to meet the Vermont RBES.
According to the Vermont Department of Public Services, on May 16 the proposed code was submitted to the Secretary of State, and a public hearing was held on June 21 at the Statehouse.
The public comment period is open through July 10, 2019.
